Appointment of the non-executive directors to the board of South Africa Post Office

I have appointed the following non-executive directors to the Board of SAPO for a period of three years, with effect from 15 December 2013:

Mr. Templeton Mageza;

Ms. Selebaleng Primrose (Boitumelo) Mothelesi;

Mr. Sihle Joel Ngubane; and, 

Mr. Sathiaseelan Gounden

The profile of the newly appointed members of the Board of SAPO is as follows: 

1. Mr Templeton Mageza’s brief profile is as follows:-

He is a practicing attorney and has on a few occasions acted as a Judge in the High Court of the Eastern Cape. His qualifications include a Diploma in Competition Law, Bachelor of IURIS (B IURIS), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), and Master of Laws (LLM). 

He was previously a member of the SA Ladder (Pty) Ltd, Millennium Property Group and Mathuba Mining. He possesses skills and expertise in the areas of Corporate Law, Law of Contract, Constitutional and Administrative Law and various other areas of law.

2. Mr. Sihle Joel Ngubane’s brief profile is as follows:-

Mr. Ngubane is currently an Executive Director: Operations at Sizavoux (Pty) Ltd. His qualifications include a BSc Computer Science; National Diploma in Ministry; National Diploma in Information Technology; Oracle Certified Professional DBA, Oracle Applications DBA, Database Securities, Bytes Technology and Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional- MCITP: DBA. 

Mr. Ngubane currently holds a directorship in the Oracle Partner Advisory Board for Oracle SA. He previously held directorships in J&B Consulting; Sizavoux (Pty) Ltd and Advance Apps (Pty) Ltd. He has skills and expertise in Executive Management Leadership Level and General Information Technology.

3. Ms Selebaleng Primrose (Boitumelo) Mothelesi’s brief profile is as follows:-

Ms Mothelesi is currently a Consultant in the field of Accounting, Tax and Finance related matters. Her qualifications include a B Com in Accounting and Auditing, B Com Honours in Accounting and a Masters of Business Leadership.

Ms Mothelesi is currently Board member of Adrenna Ltd. She has extensive working experience in banking, treasury, investment analysis and Senior Management.

4. Mr. Sathiaseelan Gounden’s brief profile is as follows:-

Mr. Gounden is a Chartered Accountant. He previously worked as the Chief Executive Officer of Gobodo Incorporated. His qualifications include a Higher Diploma in Accounting, a B Compt Degree, a Certificate in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination; and Executive Leadership Development. 

Mr. Gounden is currently a Board member of the Institute of Directors, Fasset, Sci-Bono, South African Institute of Professional Accountants, Playhouse Company and the South African Revenue Service (SARS). He is a Committee Member of the Audit Committee of the Competition Commission. He is also a member of the Audit Committee within the Department of Home Affairs and the Auditor-General of South Africa. Mr. Gounden has vast experience as a Chartered Accountant. He also has extensive management, audit committee, and Board membership experience.
