The Ministry and Department of Communications met with the board and management of the Universal Service and Access Agency of South Africa (USAASA) today. The meeting considered USAASA’s National Strategy on Universal Access, and discussed “SA Connect”, the Broadband Policy; Digital Migration; and the ICT Green Paper.

As the Gobodo Report is incomplete, there was agreement between the Minister and the Board that the report did not provide the legal or other basis for definitive action. The matter has now been referred for further investigations expeditiously.
