The Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services Ms Stella Nbabeni-Abrahams welcomes Parliament’s call for the public to submit written comments on the Ikamva National E-Skills Institute (iNeSi) Bill by 12 June 2018.

This is the next step in the public engagement process which will lead to the enactment of laws that institutionalise training partnerships that are required to build the e-skills needed by the country for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Bill seeks to, amongst others, establish iNeSI as a juristic person. It integrates the work done by the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA), the e-Skills Institute (e-SI) and the Institute for Satellite and Software Applications (ISSA).

“We need to move expeditiously yet firmly in our march towards equipping our youth, women, people with disabilities and SMMEs with the skills that will enable them to take advantage of the opportunities brought by the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” said Ms Ndabeni-Abrahams.
