Media Statement on the developments at the Universal Service and Access Agency of South Africa

The Minster of Telecommunications and Postal Services Dr Siyabonga Cwele has appointed an interim board of directors at the Universal Service and Access Agency of SA following the dissolution of the previous board. The appointment of the interim board is effective from Friday, 31 August 2018.

It will serve for three months or until a new board has been appointment.

The interim board members are:

Adv William Huma who will serve as the Interim Chairperson

Ms Ntombizodwa Kutta-Ndlovu

Ms Mapuleng Moropa

Mr Joel Sihle Ngubane

Mr Siyabonga Dube

The previous board was dissolved following lengthy engagements after which the Minister found the board to be unfit in terms of the Electronic Communications Act and the Public Finance Management Act.
