Deputy Minister Stella Ndabeni Abrahams to honour EC women

Eastern Cape Women in ICT Awards

Deputy Minister of Communications Mrs Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams will be honouring top women achievers in the Eastern Cape. Eastern Cape is known to be legging behind in ICT development compared to other provinces, this is why these awards are key in the promotion and recognition of ICT industry roleplayers, in particular women. The recipients have played a visible role in the development of ICTs’ and the ICT economy.  

The women that will be honoured come from various sectors of the ICT industry such as information systems, software development, ICT architecture and so forth.

The 2013 recipients have been celebrated by their peers both from public sector, private sector and institutions of higher learning including Eastern Cape universities by putting their names forward for the nomination process.

In attendance will be the Department of Science & Technology Portfolio Committee Member Ms Lindelwa Dunjwa, a senior member of parliament who works closely with Minister Derek Hanekom.
